Diamonds
in the Rough – Programs
Tools
of the Trade
Providing
kids with the equipment and introductory instruction needed to experience
the lessons that golf has to teach.
Golf
is a unique sport in that those who enjoy the game and make their living
through golf are always eager to give back – showing their appreciation
for the help they received as they were coming along. Diamonds
in the Rough networks with pros and amateurs and matches them
with aspiring golfers to help the younger ones get on the right track.
Up To Par
Helping
children with physical, learning, or emotional limitations to develop
good habits and achieve a sense of success with and through golf. Many
kids are unable to participate in contact sports and golf is an excellent
option for them.
Young
people with medical or learning issues that prevent them from activities
which encourage self-confidence and hard work, are ideally suited to
the game of golf. Whereas, transplant, chemotherapy, and other medically
challenged patients could never consider contact sports, the basic elements
of the game of golf (putting, chipping, and hitting) are things that
can be done on a gradient scale. The staff of Diamonds
in the Rough
have years of experience in dealing with children in such circumstances,
and have successfully helped to integrate them into the sport of golf.
Staying
on Course
Providing
access to driving ranges and golf courses in order to put newly learned
skills into practice.
Anyone
who plays golf knows how costly the sport can be. Thus, one major aspect
of Diamonds
in the Rough
is to eliminate this consideration for our participants. By contracting
with local clubs and driving ranges, we make it easy for our “Diamonds”
to regularly practice and perfect their game.
Prodigy Maker
Bringing
professional and amateur golfers into the lives of young novice golfers
in order to help them with swing mechanics, understanding the rules
of golf, course management, and character building perspectives.

Mutual Funds
Providing
scholarship opportunities to talented young golfers who would benefit
from regular access to 18 hole courses and would otherwise be unable
to play.
Simply
put, Diamonds
in the Rough
looks for talented young golfers who would benefit from being able to
play challenging courses on a regular basis. We want to assist those,
with a promising future as collegiate or professional players, match
opportunity with their God-given talents.
